Episode 5 Recap: I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World
In episode 5 of “I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too,” titled “The Sage and Magic,” Yuuya learns magic from the Sage, who is the original owner of his cottage. Back in the modern world, he discovers that his classmates will go on a two-day camping trip. While shopping later that day, he faces an unexpected incident. Here’s what happened in episode 5.
Yuuya finds human remains in a cave near his cottage and comes across The Book of the Sage, which belonged to the previous owner. The Sage had become incredibly powerful through hard work and dedication, but he declined the Gods’ invitation to become one of them. Instead, he returned to humanity. Despite mastering all known skills, his life was far from perfect.
Inspired by the Sage’s story, Yuuya is advised to find honest friends who won’t fear his powers, even if he becomes incredibly strong. The Sage also teaches Yuuya some magic, and he practices with Night to improve his skills. Upon returning to the human world, Yuuya learns about the upcoming camping trip and prepares for it by shopping for necessary items.
Episode 5 Ending: Yuuya’s Rescue Mission
During the camping trip, a fire breaks out, causing panic among the students. Yuuya and his friends worry about Rin, Kaede, and Kaori, who were on a higher floor where the fire appears to be more severe. Ryou receives a call from Kaede, who informs him that they couldn’t escape in time. Worried about their safety, Yuuya seeks information from a guard.
Realizing that his friends are in danger, Yuuya uses his newly acquired magic to envelop his body with water. He heads to the upper floor, where the fire originated, and finds Rin, Kaede, and Kaori unconscious in a corner of the hall. Yuuya carries them and searches for a way to escape.
At one point, they reach a dead-end, and the ceiling above them starts to crumble. Yuuya understands that their only option is to break through the floors beneath them. He successfully reaches the first floor, where firefighters spot them and ensure their safety. Yuuya’s heroic actions save his friends from the tragic fire.
The firefighters scold Yuuya and his friends for their reckless behavior. Kaori’s father arrives and is relieved to see that his daughter is safe. He expresses gratitude to Yuuya for his bravery. While observing Kaori, Yuuya feels a sense of loneliness as he lacks a caring family like hers. Eventually, he returns to his apartment, where Night is waiting for him.
