Kahaku meets with Bennett extremists who plan to eliminate Fushi, and he offers them his help. One of the extremists pushes Kahaku into a furnace, but the Nokker on his arm saves him. Kahaku chooses to cut off his arms and die, declaring his love for Fushi.
Throughout the years, Fushi’s friends pass away, including Messer, Tonari, Bon, and Gugu, who dies peacefully in the same manner as March. Fushi remains in his meditative state, hoping to one day bring his friends back and achieve world peace.
